Stroke correction

During the season, the Club provides a free Stroke Correction clinic for our younger members. This operates from 6.00pm to 6.30pm on club nights. To qualify for the Clinic you must be a member of the club and be able to swim 25m unaided. Participation in the clinic is completely optional – it is simply an opportunity for our younger swimmers to improve their strokes.

Who teachers the swimmers?

The instructors for the session are the senior swimmers in the club with oversight from club officials.

How many kids do we get?

20-30 kids typically attend.

What strokes are covered?

All strokes. Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly. The clinic also covers race techniques including diving starts, turns and finishes.

Safety

The clinic is conducted in the 50m pool at Glenbrook in the outer lane. Less experienced swimmers will be based in the shallow end but still need to be self-reliant in the water and able to swim 25m unaided. Supervision is provided by the instructors and the pool lifeguards. However, parents of children participating in the session must also be in attendance. Please speak to one of the Club representatives or the instructors if your child is interested in attending.
