Representing Our Club

There are many opportunities throughout the year to represent our Club at both Long Course LC and Short Course SC carnivals. Most of these events are listed under the Calendar tab on the NSW website. However, Glenbrook Swim Club also actively targets certain swim meets which we encourage members to attend. Some of these carnivals do require qualifying times QT to enter.

Glenbrook Summer Carnival

Our carnival occurs in November each year. It is open to all our members as well as members from other clubs. It is a great day and there are opportunities available to be part of the club’s relay teams. Some QT apply for the distance swims only.

Country Regionals

These meets are held on the same weekend, usually in late January, in various locations around the state. Our club usually targets one and makes a weekend of it. This is a great opportunity to compete against swimmers from different regions and to try to achieve some QT for Country Championships.

Mountains and Plains – MPS

This carnival is held twice a year (LC and SC) and caters for all 26 Swim Clubs in our region. Competitors come from Glenbrook in the east, through to Lake Cargelligo in the West, Kandos/Rylstone to the North and Cowra in the South. This carnival caters for all levels, offering 25m races through to 1500m swims. Some QT apply.

From this meet 4 swimmers per stroke, from each age group, are chosen to represent MPS at the Speedo Sprint Finals at SOPAC and Brophy in Canberra.

NSW Country Championships

This is a major carnival held twice at year at Homebush (LC and SC) and caters for the more serious competitors. QT apply for all events and it is considered a real achievement for swimmers to compete at this carnival.

NSW State Championships

This major carnival is held twice at year at Homebush (LC and SC) and caters for the best swimmers in the state. QT apply for all events and it is considered a real achievement and honour for swimmers to qualify and compete at this carnival.
