Competition & Program
Each Monday night the event program changes to provide rotation between the different strokes and distances. However, there are always events to suit swimmers of all abilities, from 25m to 1500m. Please see the Club Program for details.
Entries
Club night entries are online via the home page. We encourage swimmers to register for events the day before to ease the last minute burden on the Race Secretary.
There are no entry fees for registered swimmers to enter Club night events.
Food & Fun
We recognise that not all families get a chance to prepare a meal on club nights so we provide food options, at an affordable price, from the BBQ. Volunteers to assist with the BBQ are warmly welcomed.
The swimmers who attend find plenty of time for play and catching up between events. In fact, we think that our teenage swimmers focus more on the social side than they do on the swimming – don’t tell the coaches. Be assured, they work hard in the pool when there are qualifying times needed.
Volunteering
Glenbrook Swimming Club operates with the help of volunteers. We encourage parents to help out with simple jobs such as timekeeping, set up (particularly if you are already there for Stroke Correction Classes), check-starting, marshalling and volunteering on the BBQ. All of the jobs involve interaction with the swimmers and other parents, so it is a great way to get to meet new people.
BBQ
What is involved with the BBQ? The BBQ will already be set up when you arrive. Helpers are asked to begin cooking from 6:30pm, finishing cooking by 7:45pm. After that, it would be appreciated if you help clean and pack-up all the equipment. A member from every family is asked to help out at least once during the season. Please choose a suitable date and add your name to the 2018/19 BBQ Roster.
